Introducing the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant

Castelle's FaxPress Enterprise Redundant™ fax servers offer an advanced, highly redundant approach to network faxing, providing a complete, enterprise-level network faxing solution in one server-class machine. Designed to support the high-volume faxing needs of the busiest organizations, the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant server hardware is built around an Intel-based mother board with 1GB of memory, 2MB cache, and dual 100/1GB NIC connections. A multitasking embedded Windows Server 2003 operating system and pre-installed FaxPress Plus® server and client software make for an easy, familiar deployment.

The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant’s duplicated and backup hardware components provide increased reliability for business-critical faxing, while server-class hardware closely monitors the system. Redundant features address and eliminate common points of potential failure. Features providing improved availability include:

Dual hot swappable hard disk drives
RAID technology for disk mirroring
Dual hot swappable power supplies
Dual hot swappable cooling fans
Dual Gigabit Ethernet connectivity with client cross over support
Industrial grade hardware
Support for Digital T1, E1 and ISDN Environments in single or dual configurations for auto failover

The FaxPress Enterprise can also be configured for single or multiple digital connections to allow for automatic failover if the connection to the service provider is lost. The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant fax servers support fractional T1, T1, fractional E1, E1 and ISDN BRI carrier formats. The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant Fractional T1 and FaxPress Enterprise Redundant T1 support high-speed digital transmission in the North American market, while the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant E1 and FaxPress Enterprise Redundant ISDN support high-speed digital transmission in the European market.

As a dedicated network fax server, the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant provides client workstations with access to incoming and outgoing faxes, phonebooks, transaction logs and other fax-related data via FaxPress Plus, the Enterprise Redundant client's fax transmission and server administration utility. The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's email gateways provide a variety of fax and email integration options, allowing fax messages to be sent and received directly from a number of mail clients. The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's Secure Web Interface provides a secure, web-based server configuration, administration, and faxing utility that can be used to manage Enterprise Redundant users and administer Enterprise Redundant units, as well as send and receive faxes. FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's powerful and flexible software development kit (SDK) also provides the tools for custom fax application development, while the drop directory and drop fax service offer a straightforward approach to production faxing.

Specifically designed to help reduce communication costs and facilitate efficient, error-free information exchange, the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant fax servers take care of fax jobs more efficiently, reliably and less expensively than any standalone fax machine or software based fax solution.

Congratulations on the purchase of your FaxPress Enterprise Redundant, and thanks for choosing Castelle.

FaxPress Plus, the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant Client Software

As a dedicated network fax server, the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant provides client workstations with access to incoming and outgoing faxes, phonebooks, transaction logs and other fax-related data via FaxPress Plus®, the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant client's fax transmission and administration utility.

The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant client software sets new standards for administrative efficiency and convenience, as well as end user features and fax transmission options. FaxPress Plus provides users with tools for sending and receiving faxes, adding and deleting users, setting user properties, configuring FaxPress Enterprise Redundant server settings, managing job queues, as well as creating and accessing phone books and cover pages.

Some additional client-based administration and fax transaction features associated with FaxPress Plus include:

Fax Reporting The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's Fax Report application software module compiles the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's fax transaction logs and can generate a variety of graphical reports for system and individual user.

Email Integration The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's Embedded Email Gateway service runs on the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant server, and allows Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, Novell GroupWise and any SMTP-compatible email system users to send and receive faxes directly from the mail client. An additional email gateway for Lotus Notes is provided on the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant install disc.

Automated, Production Faxing The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's Drop Directory feature supports easy deployment of automated, production faxing in almost any environment. Third-party applications access the Drop Directory to send outgoing faxes and retrieve incoming faxes. Drop directories are defined in any sharable folders on the network accessible to the Enterprise Redundant.

Drag & Drop Fax Routing The Enterprise Redundant’s drag & drop fax routing feature allows users with Router privileges to route inbound faxes right to users' FaxPress Enterprise Redundant mailboxes with a single mouse click. A Enterprise Redundant user with Router privileges may view only the first page (cover page) of the fax, maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of the fax transaction content.

Microsoft Active Directory Integration The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's Active Directory Synchronizer allows the administrator the efficiency of creating new Enterprise Redundant users from existing Active Directory users, and the convenience of centralized Active Directory and Enterprise Redundant user management.

System Backup and Restore The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's backup and restore function allows all FaxPress Enterprise Redundant system files, user information, and fax job data to be backed up to, and restored from, a sharable network folder.

Web Interface Available from any workstation with Internet access and a web browser, the Enterprise Redundant's web interface provides access to both administrative and end-user FaxPress Plus functions. A security feature ensures that all data is fully encrypted across the Internet.

Microsoft Integration The FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's seamless Microsoft OS and Office application integration allows users to send faxes from the Send To menus of both Microsoft Office applications and Windows Explorer. Outlook users can send and receive faxes as easily as they send and receive email; fax cover pages can be created and edited using Microsoft Word or WordPad, giving users a great deal of creative flexibility.
