Troubleshooting the FaxPress Enterprise/Enterprise Redundant T1’s Dialogic Fax Board
Very infrequently, the T1 line will not synchronize properly between the FaxPress Enterprise and the central office. This will cause issues with sending and receiving multiple page faxes. In this case, the Enterprise fax board can be configured to synchronize with the connected T1 line using the steps described below.
Implement the following changes very carefully. Incorrect parameter value changes may compromise fax board function. If you have any questions regarding this procedure, contact Castelle tech support.
To synchronize the Enterprise with your T1 line if you’re experiencing problems sending multiple page faxes, follow these steps:
1. | Attach a mouse, keyboard, and monitor to the FaxPress Enterprise. Although Remote Desktop can be used for configuring other aspects of the Enterprise system, it can’t be used for this. |
2. | Power on the Enterprise. |
3. | Log into the Enterprise system as Administrator. The default password is castelle. Make sure castelle is all lower case. |
4. | Open the Services tool. (Start>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services.) |
5. | Stop all Castelle services. |
6. | Stop the GammaLink System service. |
1. | Stop the Dialogic System Service. |
2. | Navigate to Program Folders\Intel\Dialogic System Software\Configuration Manager- DCM. |
3. | Right-click on Bus-0 and select Configure Device. |
4. | Select NETREF One FRU (User Defined) and edit its value to GDK_T1 0. |
5. | Click Apply. |
6. | Select Derive Primary Clock from (User Defined) and edit its value to NETREF_1. |
7. | Click Apply. |
8. | Select Primary Master FRU (User Defined), edit its value to GDK_T1 0. |
9. | Click Apply. |
10. | Select Using NETREF One (User Defined) and edit its value to Yes. |
11. | Click Apply. |
12. | Refer to the following table to verify all the parameter values are correct, then proceed to step 13. |

13. | Click OK to exit the TDM Bus Configuration. |
14. | Select the board GDK_T1 0, and click Start. |
15. | Click OK to exit the Configuration Manager - DCM. |
16. | Start the GammaLink System Service, start Castelle services. |
Troubleshooting the FaxPress Enterprise E1 and ISDN Fax Board
The Diva Server Line Test allows you to quickly verify that the Diva Server adapter and E1 ISDN PRI or E1 ISDN BRI line are working properly.
To run the Diva Server Line Test, open the Diva Server Line Test utility (Start>Programs>Diva Server for Windows>Diva Server Line Test).
The Diva Server Line Test offers the following tests:
■ | Line Check – Performs a quick check of your software installation andthe physical connection. |
■ | Phone/Loop – Performs basic inband or outband phone tests to verify the connection to other telephones or to itself. |
■ | Call Transfer – Performs various call transfers tests, with the option to choose the transfer type. |
■ | Fax – Peforms basic inbound or outbound fax tests. |
